A UNIQUE TERROIR
On the left bank of Bordeaux, between the Gironde and the Landes forests, to the North of Saint-Estèphe, Château Sénilhac covers 40.7 hectares, whose 23.76 hectares are planted with vines. The vineyard benefits from a clay-limestone soil, which conceals in its subsoil a large reserve of water, so precious during years of drought, thus giving the wine harmony and richness.
With an average age of 25 years, the vineyard is cultivated with respect and observation to highlight its excellence.
The terroir/grape variety combination makes Château Sénilhac a round, supple and fleshy wine, pleasant to enjoy young, but also, thanks to the important share of Cabernet, an excellent wine for aging.
METICULOUS KNOW-HOW
Each plot benefits from precise work adapted to its profile. Regular monitoring of maturity is carried out by analysis and tasting. The grapes are harvested well-ripened and in the best possible sanitary condition. Château Sénilhac is certified as a High Environmental Value vineyard.
The harvest is mechanical with on-board sorting. In addition, a mechanical sorting table followed by manual sorting completes the selection.
The vinification is carried out with care and attention, in a modern vat room, composed of thermo-regulated stainless-steel vats hosting each plot separately. This work of plot differentiation is essential to the blending of each terroir.
The wine is then aged in French oak barrels, carefully selected, and placed in an aging cellar. Each harvest is entirely bottled at the Estate.

OPERATIONS DIRECTOR
« As a graduate engineer, I have had the privilege of being the Operations Director of Château Sénilhac since 2017. Château Sénilhac is located near Saint Seurin de Cadourne, renowned for the quality of its wines. The will of the owners is to restore its letters of nobility to this Sleeping Beauty. The technical team that I lead is fully invested in this mission and our role is to transform and sublimate the grapes produced by this magnificent terroir. »
CHÂTEAU SENILHAC AND THE ENVIRONMENT
A major challenge for the future, Sénilhac is committed to environmentally friendly management through reasoned cultivation of the vineyard. Château Sénilhac is honoured with the High Environmental Value (HVE 3) operating certification, there is no, or very little, use of chemical fertilizer, replaced by the addition of natural organic matter. The use of water is measured, and the use of energy saving is integral. The management of the farm utilises and develops biodiversity and promotes an autonomous agriculture that does not degrade soil, water and air.
